My kids are on the swim team at the beginning of the summer and throughout the summer they swim for fun. So, we are all out in the sun a lot. Until recently most sun protection products either came in sprays or lotions in a bottle. So, when the opportunity to try Shady Day Daily Sun Protection Wipes came along I was delighted.
Sprays are convenient, but taste disgusting if you inhale any of the spray while it is being sprayed on. Lotions can be very messy and you never know how much to apply or if you’ve covered every area of the body with it. Both the spray and the lotion are difficult to apply on the face for fear of getting in the eyes or the mouth.
The wipes seemed to be a much more convenient solution to applying sun protection on my children’s skin as well as myself. Were they? Yes and No. It was convenient to use these innovative wipes because they are easy to carry, much easier then bulky leaking bottles, and they are easy to use. Just pull one wipe out and rub it on the skin. That’s it and that quick.
The protection is not oily or slippery or messy and it can be easily used on the face. The lotion in the wipes glides on very well and it smells good too, pleasant fragrance. However, I was never sure if I was supposed to use one wipe or two on my kids. Can one wipe cover a whole kid? Does it depend on the kid’s size? Can I use half a wipe for a baby? I’m also not sure if I would buy them at the price they are at now ($14 for 15 wipes). I’m a mom of 3. Cost is almost as important as the protection.
This is Mom Central blog newsletter description of the wipes, “Shady Day Daily Sun Protection Wipes make applying sunscreen super simple and really quick. Moms can just smear on sunscreen using the convenient wipe, and kids find themselves protected against the sun’s harmful rays in seconds. The pre-moistened wipe has a broad spectrum UVA/UVB SPF 30 sunscreen and goes on mess-free. Also, the sunscreen wipes have no artificial ingredients and even moisturize – perfect for gentle baby (or Mommy!) skin.”
